Hey people that are reading this blog I want to tell you about MY week at school.

This week at school we got a new kid in our class on Monday named Tysin. The only way I knew how to spell the name Tysin was Tyson so I learned something new from him, YIPPEE! In our class we all have numbers and when Tysin came had had no number But on Tuesday we figured so nobody would have to change their numbers up one his number was confirmed as #27. I'm just glad that we didn't get bumped up one number because I like the number 8 and that's my number of course!

we also had a Patrol party and all the bus patrols were allowed to wear their pajamas! I am a bus patrol of course and I did wear my pajamas to the party. We got popcorn and we had to bring a spill proof drink.The party didn't go for the while day but it went for 4/1/2 periods and that was including recess! The movie we watched was Santa Claus. I was a okay movie for me but I'm not sure if anybody else liked it but I bet someone did.

We did a art project! It was a finger doodling project. When I mean "finger doodling project" I mean you put paint on your fingers and you make pictures. Well we made finger snowman so we put paint on our Thumb, our pointer finger and our pinkie finger. I will now tell you how to make finger snowman.

1. you get all the supplies you need. you will need: white paint, small pieces of paper, one large piece of paper, a sponge and SOME FINGERS!!!!
2. next you dip you fingers in the paint.
3. dip you r fingers on the paper in this order: thumb, index and then pinkie. the now have your snowman!
4. wait for it to dry then draw your snowman's nose, eyes, mouth, arms and accessories. (optional)
5. enjoy your snowman!

We had a hackysack tournament. It was supposed to be for high school kids but we got lucky! The first person that I versed was Ricky who beat me. Kirstyn which I beat. The next person I versed was Katie which I also beat then I met Peyton who sadly beat me :'(. After all the tiring games it was eventually over!

T.W.A.S

This week at school we started hand writting. I like hand writting but I am not very good at it but I still like it. When I do hand writting I allways mess up on doing the letters right. The good thing is that the words that we do are pretty easy so it is better. I have a trick though I hold my pencle down lower so it is easy to get the letters and it is is easy to read. Oh and I allmost forgot to tell you last year in Ms Davises class we did hand writting and we hade books that we had to try to finnish it by the end of the year and I only had 7 padges left. And that is good because Jada,Ashleigh and me were a cuple of the only people that were almost done so that is a ood thing.

This week at school we had me to we club. This time it was a little different because what we did is we brought our lunch to room 29 that is the old computer room we ate our lunch then we started making cards and hampers. You are probably wondering what that is well I will tell you.For the hampers we got boxes witch I was the only one that brought a box good thing our libraryon had extra boxes so we took a box and wrapped it in wrapping paper then what we are going to do is people are going to bring in unwraped toys and boxed food. And for the cards we took a plan caed with no cover then we could eather do thum pain , spunge pant or just paint it then we aregoing to sell them at our cristmas concert.

This week at school we had gym.In gym we did dodge ball but not just and dodge ball we did fitness dodge ball. For fitness dodge ball we play a dodge ball game and if you get hit you find a fitness staition the we do what it says. But if he blows the wistal you run a lap then find a different staion then you keep playing dodge ball. We also payed ringette Wich I loved so it was a fun week of gym I hope we do it next week and for a lot longer because it is really fun.

This week at school we had social studys. We are working on the history from a long time ago so right now we are working on how all the cultures lived so we are learning about that. But when we are done we are going to buld dieramas we will be in groups our group will be peyton, brooke, jada and me Emily. We are going to do the Artic wich is the igloo but did you know that there is a mud house that is used for a stable house the igloo is for when you are on a hunting trip or you are travling cool hay.

TWAS

This week at school we did a big project my partner was mason he was a good partner. He helped me with a project. The project was a wind vane and it was fun. We had a fun time together and I hope we do another project. But I think we had a lot.


I gym I had a lot of fun because we had a gusset teacher his name is Mr. Wood. He is a nice teacher but he is a little mean but not a lot. He was super nice to me and he is a sub for a gym teacher. I hope he will come back and sub for us. We played volleyball and my partner was Emily. Emily said I was really good at volley ball I was super at playing agents the other component.

In music I did a really fun time doing the computer job. Instead of doing singing part of music. In music we sang all about Remembrance Day. Our songs were about assemble for our gussets.

This Week at School

This week at school…

In science we watched more videos on YouTube. This time we were watching videos about air pressure.  There was a guy in Mexico and he had a watch to measure the pressure. He was down at sea level and the pressure was… I can’t remember sorry. When he was on the mountains there wasn’t that much pressure because it takes all the pressure away that you had on the beach.  

In Gym we did lots of volleyball. It was about learning how to bump and today we learned how to volley the volleyball. We played different volleyball games. Like: backyard clean up and keep up with a partner. Today Me Matt, Dawson, Nick M, Nick S, And Cam.

In Art we did silhouettes. STEPs: you colour the paper with paint in order yellow orange red purple blue black. Then you let it dry while it is drying you cut out your black shapes. When your picture is dry you glue your black cut outs to your paper and that is it. And that is how you make silhouettes.

This week in Math we did our math quiz. I think I did really well because on the pre-test I got it all right and I studied hard. In math otherwise we did estimates. It was hard because you were always trying to get the right answer. It was different

My Fantistic TWAS

This week at school I got taught a new game called Banana grams. Banana grams is a game that 4 or 5 people can play and righ now I’m going to teach you how to play.


Step 1: flip over all tiles and then pick 21 if 4 but if 5 15.


Step 2: say “split” and the game starts and you are trying to make as may word or long words.


Step 3: say you have a Q or a V you can say “ Dump” and put the Q or the V goes into the pile and pick 3 new tiles but you don’t want to say “dump” all the time or you will end up with to much tiles.


Step 4: when your tiles are all gone you say “Split” then you win 
That is how you play Banana Grams

This week we did a french paper on Famous people. You had to cut Famous people out of magizene or on the computer. I cut people out of a magizene and i took Justin timberlake and Karry underwood.

But lots of people forgot to bring in pictures but Brook saved the day because she had a teen magizene so every buddy took pictures from brooks Book. anyway then you had to glue the pictures on the paper and write their names.

This week we started a plasic bag round up. Its when you have to collect all the plastic bags you can.

anyway me and Emily were parters so you have to take a bag and turn it inside out of no food or receipt or in the bag. Then you have to line them up in a row of 10 and Mrs. Dent scarcello puts a tally on the white borad. We have 2600 bags so far then round up ends on October 27 so bring all the bags you can. Adress #3950 raliegh St.

In daily 5 i am so close to be finshed my book on the ipad. My book is about my dog bening a super dog and his real sister Emma. My dogs name is Jumbo and he is a dashound i love my dog. I took pictures of my dog around my house on my ipod i also got pictures off the computer. Also in Daily 5 i am reading a book called Dork Diraies and its number 4. It came out on Tuesday afternoon. I just got it on October 13, 2011 or yesterday. I am really enjoying the book so far and i am on page 55.

Video TWAS

This week since while we were doing TWAS we decided to try out our new video cameras to make a mini video TWAS! I compiled the video using iMovie over the weekend but in the future, students will be able to do this themselves using the iMovie app we have on our iPads and iPods.

My Amazing TWAS

This week at school our class had LA.  We did word work in daily 5.  We learned a new game called banana grams, it's where you get 21 letters and then someone says split and you flip over your letters, then you try to make as many words as you can make out of your letters, if someone says dump they put a letter that you don't want in the bunch and pick 3 letters.  When you can't make any more words you say bananas then the game is finished.  It is really fun!

               This week our class had art, we did pointillism.  It's where you can only make a  picture out of dots only.  But you can only do a picture of a tree.  You have to use Q-tips to paint. I really like pointillism!

          This afternoon we will be having a assembly.  I will be introducing the people coming from Winnipeg Harvest.  I will be speaking with Emily and Jayda.  I'm a little bit nervous because it is my first time speaking in front of the school.  It will be super fun!

              This week at school our class started the Plastic Bag Round-up.  If we collect the most Plastic bags out of  all the schools participating we could win a bench made out of resycled plastic.  We will also get frisbee's for each class.  They look really cool when they are done.  I really really hope we win the bench.  After we get to clean out the bags and then we have to put them inside out and pull them to make them thin.  Once we get ten we have a tally chart and we will put a tally.  Each tally represents 10 bags.

My Funky Dunky Twas

This week at school we went to are book buddies on Friday. Instead of reading we painted. Well I didn’t paint, my book buddy Karley painted. She did this cool fall painting. She painted a tree with a couple of leaves. The rest of the tree was branches. It was pretty cool to see grade 1 and 2's paint. I always thought it was so difficult to paint with a paint brush. Especially with wet paint under your arm, so if you put your arm down you would get paint all over your arm.

Also this week at school we played silent ball. You stand on a chair and you pass a ball without saying a word. That why it is called silent ball. If you don't catch the ball then you sit down. But if the other person throws low and you don't catch it then they are out. It is fun to play because you get to stand on your chair. But what if you fall down. You would get a big boo boo:(

This week there was a big run at Birds Hill Park. Some people went but some people stayed. It was only for the people for run club. One girl in are class came in 2nd. That is pretty good for a girl in grade 5. The class was quiet and empty. It was cool though because we had lots of room on the play structure to play because some of the grade 4,5,and 6's went to the run. They called it the Turkey Trot. It is such a funny name.

Last but not least... an experament!!! At school we did a experament that took so long to do. We were trying to form a cloud but sadley it failed:( We got to go in the staff room. Kayla kept on saying there is a secret button for a hot tub because every staff room has a hot tub.YA RIGHT!!! Mrs.Dent Scarcello got a pie plate full of ice. Then she got a jam jar half way full of hot water. Then she put the pie plate over the jar to form a cloud. But all it did was fog up.

My Awesome Twas

This week at school we started spelling. This isn't the kind of spelling that you study words and have a spelling test at the end of the week, it's called "making big word" and this is how it works. First, Mrs. Dent Scarcello puts a word on the smart board and it is all mixed up like this week it was Millions and she mixed it up so it looked a little like this iiollmns and it looked like  2  3   4    5     6      7+. Then we would find as many words as possible and we where trying to find the big word. After a few minutes where up, she would say "Times up" and we would add up our score and there where awards for our weekly draw witch where first person to find the big word, Highest score, and Most words. I didn't win any but my score was 29.

Another thing was Me, Jada, Emily, Brooke and other people from our class. For recycling club, every Monday after lunch we take everyone's recycling bin and dump it into a bigger one. The bigger ones got dumped into an even BIGGER one. Then the recycling truck picks it up and takes it some where. When we are dumping the recycle bins, we all picked partners and of course, I picked Brooke.

On Tuesday it was the Terry Fox Fun!!! Now now don't get your hope's up cause it was raining and we did it IN DOORS whatever. For the (so it was said) Terry Fox run, we started in a corner and had to run around the gym twice and when we ran around twice we would grab a popsicle stick.Two popsicle sticks would represent one province. so you needed to run around the gym 26 times to run across Canada.

On Wednesday we had to run club in the halls because the weather was poor outside. We ran in the halls for A total of ten minutes all together. I know that I ran a bunch of laps but i didn't bother to count at all.The good thing was that there was a bunch of water fountains scattered along the school. Then at the end we did a sprint.

Last but not least we had Social Studies. In Social Studies we are learning about the history of Canada. So Far, where Just doing paper work on printing the meaning of seartian words in the glossary. I think I'm doing a great job on all of the Social Studies. The best part of Social Studies is Reading in the text books!!! -Peyton :)!!!

My Fun TWAS!

This week at school our class went to library. Then I found out that we now have a couch in library its pink! I picked a book called "dog lost" it is a really good book. I also  had to get a book for my little bro. It is called "Alligator baby by Robert Munsch" you probably heard of it or maybe not?

We also did our portfolio covers. Mine is a wordle about school, subjects, etc. I think mine looks awesome! This year my portfolio's white. Usually it would be black but not this year it's different. I also put a A+ just to make it look better! Wink wink!

All of us in the class were doing the writers workshop. I am writing a story about a girl who wanted a dog i call it "Puppy love" cute hey?! Writing is also my favorite subject i have fun writing. We would always do writing in the morning for daily 5.

In science we are studying about the weather. We also have this temperature chart. And the weather person (its one of the jobs we have) would go on the smart board and search up what the weather is! Ok and this is my favorite part about it is we get to do our own weather video! And we get to meet a real weather girl!

We Are WAY "Awesomer" Writers!

Today as we get ready for our second last TWAS entry, we are taking time to reflect on how we have grown as writers. We are comparing our first TWAS entries to our latest ones and there are lots of things we are better at.

• We have neater printing.
• We skip a line before we start a new topic (we write in paragraphs).
• We write A LOT more.
• We add more detail to our writing.
• We write more topics.
• We use correct spelling of a lot more words.
• Sometimes we write to different people.
• Some of us write in full size notebooks instead of half size notebooks.
• We use punctuation now.
• We start our sentences with upper case.
• We leave bigger spaces between words.
• We type faster when we blog our TWAS so we can share more on our blog.

This week at school morgun had a new baby sister her name is lily. we did not get to see her yet but we think that she is very cute and we think her name is cute to! morgun was very happy that he got a baby sister.

this week at school we had music outside we played charlie over the ocean it is when someone goes around the circle and they say charlie over the ocean charlie over the sae charlie caugth a black bird cant catch me it is very  fun! (:

TWAS

This week at school we got to play on the jungle gym on Thursday.It was soooo fun!!!.At the gym we got to play on the jungle gym. There was lots of stations in the gym 1 was rops,free time cart,jungle gym,rocking and a bouncey ball staion .there were lots of fun:)

This week at school we got too do a 3 digit number  math book. But the first page was 1 digit number.It was sooo easy!!!! The 3 digit was a little easy and a LOT hard But it was really FUN:)


This week at school we had a jelly bean contest .There are 1 jar 2 jars 3 jars.We had to estmate how manny jelly beans were in the jars. The winners will be named on Monday. I wonder how will win? It will be so exsideing:)

This week at school we read  lots of The Miraculous Journe of Edward Tulane. It is about a girl named Abline and her rabitt .His name was Edward Tulane. He is made from china. Once he got bittin by a dog named rosie.We read 9 chaperts.It is SOO good so fair:)

This week at  school  we had miss Nowiki as our sub.She was really fun!!!!!!!

TWAS

This week at school we released the Butterflies! they are panited lade's! We took  photo's and vidio's. Some butterflies stade on our fingers for a long time! Araya got the first Butterfly on her nose. Brody was the first one to get a butterfly on his eye!The Butterflies tikled us!The Butterflies were Mading!

This week at school it was Anna's and keanna's  B-day! They are both 8! We celabrated Anna's and Keanna's B-day by giving them a penceil and a lolly pop and an eraser and a card. It was awesome! We sang happy birthday!

This week at school we wached livestreim duckling's. We saw one hatch  It was grose. We left some coment's on there blog. They are slimy when they come out of there egg. They get fluffy rilly fast.

This week at school we had computer. In computer we were working in  comic life. we where working on the butterflies it was supper fun.

This week at school

This week at school we went to the Folkdance Festival!When we got off the bus we had to walk a little bit to where we have to dance. The dance's we did were : Hand jive, Bird dance, Car wash, trains, YMCA, Alunelul, Tarentella, macarana, Hands up, Get off the couch. We did a LOT of dancing. We ate lunch there. After lunch we did some more dances. After those dances our buses weren't here yet. So we did more dances. When we were back at school all the grade 1's 2's and 3's went to the gym to watch a movie. We had to vote. the movies were : The Incredibles, finding nemo, shrek 1, shrek 2 and shrek 3. The incedibles won. While we were watching the movie, we got popcicals. They were the ones where they have 3 colours insted of one. the flavors were : grape, lime and watermelon. They were awesome! But we had to stop the movie for home time.

This week at school we did a postcard projeck.we got one from clagary,Bragg creek,vancover,Edmintin,tisdale.we had fun because we like to write.it was AWESOME!!! Mrs Dent scarcello made groups.this week at school we had reading buddies outside.
